Our History

Since 1898, Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory has been known for serving their neighbors in Hancock County with compassion and professionalism.

Our founders, George E. Condo and Nellie E. Lyons Condo, laid a foundation of excellence that continues today. Their son, Harold E. Condo, later came into the business and successfully operated it until he passed away. At that time, his son, George, along with his mother, Elizabeth, and Bob Applegate took the helm. After the passing of Elizabeth Condo in 2006, George and his wife, Amy, operated with their daughter, Susan, until she passed away in 2015.

In order to spend more time with their family, George and Amy have retired locally and sold the mortuary to a sixth-generation funeral director, Paul St. Pierre, and his wife, Kristin. The couple already owns and operates Wilson St. Pierre in Pendleton and Brown-Butz-Diedring in Anderson, so they are equipped to care for Hancock County families, while providing the level of service that only a locally-owned and family-operated funeral home can. This synergy will help make the cost of funerals and cremations much more affordable than in years past.

We are pleased to continue such a rich heritage of caring service with families going forward. Our dedication to the community has remained constant and will only improve with this new partnership.
